Tier One's 68RFE Tow-All Transmissions
We here at Tier One know that the Ram 2500 & 3500 Ram 6.7L Cummins trucks make for one heck of a towing platform, but if you're towing heavy and often with your big Cummins Ram (even at stock power levels), the stock 68RFE transmission can start seeing some issues. That's why we here at Tier One have put together both a 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 & 3500 68RFE Tow-All Transmission and a 2019-2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 68RFE Tow-All Transmission that that are designed to give your Ram more long-term reliability for your towing rig. These budget-friendly Ram transmissions replace just enough components and off just enough upgrades to get your Ram improved reliability when towing and hauling at factory or near-factory power levels. These transmissions are perfect for the frequent weekend tow rig that needs to avoid a mid-journey breakdown. The Tier One Tow-All 68RFE Transmissions feature just enough fixes and upgraded components to help solve some common 68RFE issues while allowing the transmission to hold up to the strain of heavy towing. One of the biggest points of failure with the stock 68RFE is the torque converter, so we here at Tier One replace the stock torque converter with a twin-disc torque converter that does a better job of handling the strain than the factory torque converter. We here at Tier One also replace the failure-prone 4C spring retainer with a new billet 4C spring retainer that's far stronger and won't suffer from blow-outs from the center support when placed under heavy load. Tier One also replaces the stock valve body with a new, high-pressure valve body that more effectively keeps the transmission supplied with fluid and adequately lubricated when you're towing and hauling heavy. The Tow-All Transmissions are topped off with deep, cast aluminum transmission pan that has a higher fluid capacity than stock and helps reduce transmission temperatures, even when you're towing and hauling heavy.
Tier One's 600HP Stage 1 68RFE Transmissions
When you want to take the power and torque of your Cummins diesel up a notch, the stock 68RFE transmission can start to see some issues. That's where the Tier One 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 & 3500 600HP Stage 1 68RFE Transmission and 2019-2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 600HP Stage 1 68RFE Transmission come in. Our Stage 1 68RFE transmissions were specifically designed for Ram 6.7L Cummins trucks that are running bolt-on modifications and mild 6.7L Cummins performance tunes without suffering from burn-up or failures when you're ripping your truck around. The Stage 1 68RFE transmission is tough enough to handle heavy towing and tough off-roading at higher power levels than stock without letting you down. If you're putting together a 6.7L Cummins Ram build that's going to aggressively rip around the street or the trail, the Stage 1 68RFE transmission is the perfect choice for your truck
The Stage 1 600HP transmission comes with everything the base Tow-All transmissions include, as well as a few upgrades to help your Ram truck to hold more horsepower and torque than stock. The Tier One Stage 1 transmission comes with a billet twin-disc torque converter that resists burn-up and warping while it's twin-disc internal design allows it to more effectively hold extra power and torque. In addition, Tier One includes new Borg Warner clutches with an increased overdrive and 2C clutch counts that allow the transmission to more effectively hold more horsepower and torque than the factory 68RFE transmission.
Tier One's 750HP Stage 2 68RFE Transmissions
One of the great things about the 6.7L Cummins under the hood of your 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500 or 3500 is that it's extremely easy to make massive amounts of horsepower and torque with relatively inexpensive modifications and performance upgrades. The bad news is that the stock 68RFE transmission can't reliably handle it. Our 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 & 3500 750HP Stage 2 68RFE Transmission and our 2019-2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 750HP Stage 2 68RFE Transmission are both designed to handle a bunch more horsepower and torque than stock, letting you install aggressive tuning, slightly oversized injectors, turbo upgrades, exhaust kits, and basically any bolt-on performance part you have in mind without your transmission being the thing that lets you down. The Stage 2 transmissions are Tier One's most popular 68RFE options, and they're a perfect choice for Ram trucks that are looking to make good power and push themselves hard both on and off the pavement. The Tier One Stage 2 68RFE transmissions are right at home towing heavy loads, driving hard on the street, hitting the sled pull, and tearing it up off-road in the dirt. The Stage 2 transmissions handle just enough power to let you stack on some easy modifications while still being incredibly affordable. The Stage 2 is able to handle up to 750horsepower thanks to more than a few high-strength, billet transmission components that put it a cut above the Stage 1 and Tow-All transmissions. The Stage 2 transmissions come with the same billet 4C retainer, increased clutch count, and deep transmission pan as the Stage 1, but also include a bunch of other upgrades that make it capable of withstanding impressive levels of horsepower and extremely heavy towing. Each Stage 2 transmission gets another bump in the torque converter department by coming with a billet triple-disc torque converter instead of a twin disc which allows it hold and transfer even more power to the transmission from the motor. Tier One also includes a billet steel flex plate that better withstands huge power and load better than the factory flex plate. Every Stage 2 68RFE transmission is fitted with 300M billet steel input shaft that's more resistant to shearing and twisting than the stock cast steel input. The Stage 2 transmission also comes with a billet steel clutch drum that's more resistant to gouging than the stock drum, and gives us the space to install more overdrive, 2C, and 4C clutches than stock to help your truck hold more power and torque. The Stage 2 transmission also includes a billet 2C piston and a rollerized Sprag clutch that hold up better under high loads than the stock components. Each Stage 2 transmission is topped off with a billet high-pressure valve body that can handle higher line pressures and load than stock while still delivering enough fluid to keep all of the Stage 2 68RFE's components adequately lubricated.
Tier One's 900HP Stage 3 68RFE Transmissions
If your 6.7L Ram Cummins is making some serious power, or if you want some transmission overmatch for extremely heavy towing, really aggressive off-roading, or frequent sled pull use, then the Tier One Stage 3 68RFE transmissions are for you. We have both 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 & 3500 900HP Stage 3 68RFE and 2019-2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 900HP Stage 3 68RFE transmission flavors available, but both are loaded down with high-strength transmission components that will let your wicked 6.7L Cummins Ram build hold absolutely huge levels of power so that you can stack on big turbos, huge injectors, awesome exhaust upgrades, and extremely aggressive tuning or custom tuning onto your Ram. The Stage 3 68RFE transmissions were designed from the ground up to work on some of the toughest and meanest Ram trucks around, all while keeping a fairly clean street ride and shifting. The Stage 3 68RFE transmissions are a great choice for 6.7L Cummins Ram builds that are loaded with power-adders and want to really tear it up on the street, trail, track, or sled pull. While the Stage 3 transmissions can't handle true competition levels of power, they'll still let you push your Ram truck extremely hard without your choice of transmission letting you down. The Tier One Stage 3 Transmissions come with many of the same components as the Stage 2 68RFE transmissions, but several components are dialed up a notch in order to handle extremely high levels of power and very hard usage both on and off-road. Instead of a more industry standard 300M billet input shaft, the Stage 3 transmission comes with a billet Maraging steel input that's even stronger in order to resist huge levels of power and hard launches at the drag strip or sled pull. The Stage 3 68RFE also comes with an improved clutch drum setup with both a billet inner and billet outer drum that's loaded to the gills with clutches so that the transmission can hold huge levels of power and get firm, but accurate shifting while you're smashing the throttle. On top of the billet 2C piston included in the Stage 2 68RFE, the Stage 3 also includes a billet 4C piston to help prevent failures which shifting under huge levels of load. Every Stage 3 68RFE transmission also includes a billet, one-piece clutch hub that replaces the weaker 2-piece clutch hub, which can fail under extremely high levels of power.
Tier One's Competition 68RFE Transmission

Frankly, we're not even entirely sure what the limits are (though we're itching to find out). The Competition transmissions are fully built 68RFEs that can handle practically anything you throw at them. If you're looking to install bad-boy compound turbos, huge injectors, nitrous or water-meth injection, custom exhaust systems, and extremely aggressive tuning to absolutely dominate at the track or the dyno day, then the Tier One 68RFE Competition transmissions are absolutely you're winning ticket. The Competition 68RFE Transmissions are loaded down with high-strength transmission components that allow the transmission to handle the immense strains of competition use on extremely high-powered trucks. The Competition transmissions come with everything that the Stage 3 transmissions come with, along with a few notable improvements to take its power-holding to the next level. The Competition Transmission comes with a RevMax Stage 5 Billet Triple-Disc torque converter that's practically bomb-proof and can handle both extremely high levels of horsepower and hard launches at the drag strip, sled pull, or dyno day. Each Competition 68RFE transmission is also fitted with a RevMax Billet XR Clutch Drum that's even stronger than even the stock replacement billet drum on the Stage 3 transmissions and has the capacity for even more clutches for maximum power-holding potential. The low/reverse Sprag is also upgraded to a billet unit that can handle hard shifting and immense load with letting you down.
