Tier One Transmission Installation & Tuning Notes
INSTALL GUIDE
- When using Billet flex-plate DO NOT use factory spacer.
- WIRE HARNESSES must inspected and repaired.
- Red loc-tite on converter and flex-plate bolts.
- All transmissions REQUIRE a cooler flush or complete cooler replacement before starting of the engine after transmission replacement.
- Oil levels must at appropriate level when hot or cold.
- All six speed and up transmission/valve bodies require a RELEARN/ADAPT/KAM RESET after installation.
- Please attach serial number somewhere on your customers invoice – serial number for the trans is the invoice number that we give you. This will help us quickly identify the build in our system in case of warranty issues with the transmission.
- Complete all break in procedure forms and warranty forms and either email them to [email protected] or drop them off at our shop to be filed away within 30 days.
- Completing all warranty forms and returning them to Tier One is the responsibility of the installer. Warranty forms not completed/returned within 30 days will void the warranty.
LINE PRESSURE GUIDES
These numbers are needed for warranty info! 47RE- Line pressure in gear while at idle will be 75psi.
- Max line pressure under full throttle 1-3 will be 115psi.
- 145-160psi in OD and lock up.
- Line pressure in gear while at idle will be 80psi.
- Max line pressure under full throttle 1-3 will be 125psi.
- 160-190psi in OD and lock up.
- Max line pressure during road test – High pressure VB needs to be at 225psi at 25-30% throttle angle.
- Stock VB are 160psi.
- Line pressure in reverse should reach 250psi.
- Use of factory lock strategy must be used or transmission damage will occur.
- 2019 and up should have UD pulse turned off (Please verify on 2017 and 2018 Rams as some are equipped with this option).
- Line pressure at idle in gear should be 70-80psi.
- Line pressure at max throttle will be 250-325 depending on build level of transmission.
- Lock up pressure will vent about 40psi from max lock up when applied.
- Requires strategy relearn for valve body – code for strategy relearn is on the invoice.
- Must have factory transmission tuning.
- Requires strategy relearn and factory transmission tuning.
- Must have gear ratio updated per tire size of the vehicle if larger tires are used.

- Cylinder deactivation/displacement on demand (DOD) must be disabled.
- All L/U slip tables set to 0 rpm of slip.
- L/U apply disabled 1st-4th gear.
- Shift scheduling adjusted for tire size.
- 5-6 shift delayed 10% at below 25% throttle (after shift scheduling adjustment).
- TCC desired pressure set to a minimum of 30psi.
- TCC apply pressure ramp +20psi above 0 rpm slip.
