Tier One Transmission's Core Return Policy
Tier One requires core returns for our built transmissions, valve bodies, and other parts. Many parts from other manufacturers also require core returns. In both cases, a refundable core charge will be assessed at the start of your order, which will be refunded once the OEM part that the new component replaces is returned, inspected, and accepted for a potential rebuild or remanufacture.
A "core" is defined as an OEM part or component that an aftermarket part will replace. For some products, cores need to be sent back to the manufacturer so that they can use them for other builds.
Tier One Transmission Core Return Process
When you order a complete, built transmission from Tier One, Tier One will send your new transmission with a return Bill of Lading. Please use the packaging and pallet used for your Tier One transmission to send your OEM transmission back to us with the included return Bill of Lading. Once your OEM transmission core has been received by Tier One, we'll carefully inspect the transmission and its internal components. If the condition of your transmission core is deemed acceptable, Tier One will refund your core charge. Tier One reserves the right to reject any core for any reason, including (but not limited to) the following reasons:- Case damage or cracks
- Damaged or broken planetary gears
- Broken valve bodies or pumps
- Damaged or cracked torque converters
- Cracked or broken drums
- Cracked or broken pistons
- Cracked or broken accumulators
- Any other internal or external component damage
Tier One Valve Body Core Return Process

Please carefully package your OEM valve body using Tier One's valve body packaging and place the return label on the packaging. Once your core is packaged and labeled, all you have to do is run it down to your local UPS store for shipment. Tier One reserves the right to reject any valve body core for any reason, including (but not limited to) the following reasons:- Damage or cracking on the valve body itself
- Collapsed or blocked channels
- Damaged or cracked plates
- Seized components that can't be removed without damage
- Any other internal or external component damage
