Tier One's 6.7L Cummins 68RFE Race Truck Build!
We here at Tier One put our money where our mouth is when it comes to our built transmissions by building one heck of a powerful truck and throwing one of our own built 68RFEs behind it! Tier One's 6.7L Cummins Race Truck was specifically designed to tear it up on the dyno and get quick times at the track. Tier One's Race Truck features a fully-built 6.7L Cummins that's outfitted with a massive 91mm turbo, huge injectors, a 3-stage nitrous system, and enough high-strength components to hold all that horsepower and torque. Behind the engine is one of Tier One's very own built 68RFE transmissions that harnesses the over 1700hp (estimated) generated by the motor and puts it down the tires. Check out the full build list below, and stay tuned for where we take this truck next!
While hitting nearly 1700 horsepower with the first iteration of our truck was all well and good, we wanted even more horsepower and torque. To that end, we jumped up the boost pressure with an even bigger turbo and threw even more fuel at the problem, all while rebuilding the motor from the block up with high-strength block, heads, rotating assembly and much more. We paired the new engine build with one of our 68RFE Competition All-Out transmissions that's rated to handle over 1000+ horsepower. Granted, our hope is that phase 2 of our race truck build hits over 2000 horsepower in the hopes that we actually find the limit of our competition transmission and the truck itself. Tier One's Race Truck Build Round 1
The first stage of our Race Truck built threw down 1692 horsepower on the dyno thanks to its combination of an impressively large turbocharger, some serious fuel upgrades, and enough built engine components to handle it all. Surprisingly enough, the first phase of our project build "only" had one of our Stage 2 68RFE Transmissions. While we only rate our Stage 2 68RFEs to 750 horsepower, we wanted to put the transmission to the test in a big way and really push its limits. The Stage 2 68RFE managed to hold its own through multiple dyno runs and track launches without letting us down. Round 1 Engine Mods:- ARP 625 Head Studs
