Tier One's Transmission Break-In Procedures & Policy
As referenced in the 2 year limited Nationwide warranty. Any transmission purchased from Tier One Transmissions, LLC will have a standard break in procedure that must be followed or transmission warranty could be denied.
Some transmissions may require a reflash, relearn or quick-learn procedure to operate properly and shift as they should before they can be driven. This is up to the customer to verify before moving any vehicle that may have a transmission built from Tier One Transmissions, LLC. All Allison 1000, 6L80, 6L90, 68RFE, 66RFE, 45RFE, 5R110W AND 6R140 require some type of procedure before they can be driven. If your transmission is not listed here, this does not mean your transmission does not require a procedure.
Transmission fluid specs must be at the correct level before the vehicle can be driven. Any transmission that is not correctly checked on fluid level can be denied on transmission warranty.
Every Transmission that is built by Tier One Transmissions, LLC must go through a 300 mile break in, no heavy driving or towing during break in is permitted until full break in procedure is completed. Transmissions must be driven under 25% or less throttle when performing transmission break in procedure. After the 300 miles has been completed the transmission cannot be run at full throttle until the secondary 100 mile learning process has been completed as the clutches will continue meshing together to seat properly, helping the overall integrity and longevity of your new transmission parts.
Several passes must be completed on the lowest power tune at 50% throttle until transmission shifts smoothly. Then transmission must be run at 75% throttle until transmission shifts smoothly. Then transmission can be run under full power and full throttle. Every transmission must have this break in procedure performed or transmission warranty will be denied.
If a transmission is found to not perform it is up to the purchaser to contact Tier One Transmissions, LLC to be advised on further instruction for the transmission. The purchaser or operator of any Tier One Transmissions, LLC transmission is required to take any necessary precaution that will prevent any further transmission damage. Any transmission that is confirmed to have been neglected will be subject to transmission warranty being denied.
