It's certainly easy to get a bunch of extra horsepower and torque out of your 2020-2024 F250 or F350 Super Duty's 6.7L Powerstroke, but the 10R140 transmission behind it has a few flaws from the factory that hurt its reliability at stock power levels, much less when you stack on bolt-on parts and mild tuning. The OEM 10R140 transmissions can also suffer when you tow heavy and often, potentially leaving you stranded when you're pulling your gear and toys. Tier One's Stage 1 10R140 built transmission can handle up to 600 crankshaft horsepower, allowing you to use bolt-on parts and mild tuning on your F250 or F350 6.7L Powerstroke without your transmission letting you down. Tier One's Stage 1 10R140 transmission is also a great choice for untuned Super Duty trucks that are towing heavy and feature a bunch of reliability improvements that help you avoid potential issues when you're out on your next adventure. The Tier One Stage 1 10R140 Transmission features a bunch of upgraded transmission components, as well as new and updated OEM components that allow the Stage 1 10R140 to handle impressive levels of horsepower and torque with the reliability you need in tough applications both on and off the road. Tier One builds each of our Stage 1 10R140 transmissions around a RatioTek Performance Trans Tuner Valve Body Kit that includes new springs and other hardware that generates fast and accurate shifting all while improving lubrication to components that can get under-oiled when put under high levels of load. We include a SunCoast Guardian Torque Converter that features an improved construction that helps it hold more power and torque than the factory torque converter. We here at Tier One install performance GPZ clutches that feature a more aggressive friction material than stock to help the transmission hold all that extra power from popular tuning devices and bolt-on parts. We use the lasted Ford OEM CDF Clutch hub with our Stage 1 transmissions, which features a revised design that includes a steppe outer assembly to prevent movement and possible bushing failures that can lead to major lubrication issues. We also include a new OEM P4 gear hub and new OE-style pump bushing to further improve reliability. Tier One also drills three small holes in the P3 carrier to help further improve oil flow to the P3 clutches without overly weakening the P3 carrier itself. We top off the Stage 1 10R140 transmission with a cast aluminum transmission pan that improves cooling and replaces the crack and leak-prone stock pan, as well as a new OEM filter.

We carefully inspect your transmission’s planetary geartrain for damage before fully speccing all your bearings and washers for endplay. The included rebuild kit includes new seals, gaskets, and sealing rings to replace all the wearable parts of the transmission before it’s installed on your Ford Super Duty truck.

Recommended gearing: the following gearing is recommended for the following tire sizes, and is required for Tier One to honor your warranty:
- 35" Tire: 3.73 gears or higher
- 37" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
- +38" Tire: 4.56 gears or higher
Core charge: this transmission includes a $2000.00 core charge that will be refunded once Tier One receives your stock transmission, inspects it, and finds it acceptable condition. The core charge can be fully or partially waived if you send in or drop off your stock transmission ahead of time.
