Tier One's 4R100 HD Tow Transmission is the perfect way to get your classic 7.3L Powerstroke or Triton V10 Super Duty back on the road and getting work done with vastly improved reliability over the stock 4R100 transmission. Tier One builds each of our 4R100 HD Tow transmissions using a combination of upgraded and new OEM components that give it excellent reliability, even when you're towing heavy, ripping it up on the street, or heading out on an off-road adventure. Tier One builds each of HD Towing 4R100 Transmissions with a bunch of upgraded and aftermarket components, as well as new OEM and OEM replacement parts to ensure your Super Duty gets a transmission that can reliably handle whatever you can throw at it. We here at Tier One build each of our 4R100 HD Tow Transmissions around a new high-pressure valve body that's outfitted with a TransGo Valve Body Repair kit that comes with new valves, springs, snap rings, and seals which all work together to give your truck fast, accurate shifts and avoid the common 628, P1740, P1744 trouble codes. Tier One includes an OE-style torque converter to replace the undoubtedly worn-out factory unit. Each 4R100 HD Tow Transmisson comes with a Transtar Master Banner Kit that includes new frictions, pistons, bushings, and seals to give the transmission a full overhaul on its potentially wearable parts. The factory center support is a common point of failure on the 4R100 transmissions, and Tier One includes a new center support that gets custom machining and new snap ring to help prevent it from getting beat to death by the internal mounting lugs when under load. To further improve reliability, Tier One installs new rear, overdrive, and intermediate Sprag clutches, as well as a new intermediate band. In order to prevent a common point of leaks, we install an ATS Billet Transmission Tube that features a two-piece billet design with built-in seals. The 4R100 HD Tow Transmission is rounded out by a deep, cast aluminum transmission pan that has more fluid capacity than stock and improves cooling over the stock pan, as well as an OE-style fluid filter.

All parts and components are disassembled and cleaned from our OEM cores to ensure your new 4R100 transmission is free from contaminants and other debris. We carefully inspect your transmission’s planetary geartrain for damage before fully speccing all your bearings and washers for endplay. The included rebuild kit includes new seals, gaskets, and sealing rings to replace all the wearable parts of the transmission before it’s installed on your Ford Super Duty F250 or F350 truck.
Thorough Testing of the Valve Body and Entire Transmission Before Shipping

To make sure you get a built 4R110 transmission that’s as tough as your truck, Tier One puts the valve bodies and entire assembled transmissions through rigorous testing to ensure you get the reliability you need for heavy towing and hauling applications with your 7.3L Powerstroke diesel or Triton V10. All valve body solenoids are carefully tested to ensure flawless operation. After assembly of the valve body, it goes through rigorous dyno-testing to ensure proper fluid flow, line pressures, and solenoid operation. After final assembly of the transmission itself, we put it through a complete air-check to find potential leaks before a final inspection and shipping out.
