The Ford 6R80 transmission helping to power your 2011-2017 F150 is known for being pretty stout and handling tough applications, but even the best-designed and reliable transmission has a few issues and can let you down, especially after all of these years on the road. Tier One's build 6R80 HD Towing transmission was carefully designed to have just enough upgrades to keep this transmission reliable at stock or near-stock power levels while still being able to handle heavy towing at the bleeding edge of your F150's GVWR. Tier One's HD Towing 6R80 transmission for 6-speed F150s will get your truck back on the road and give your truck back excellent shifting and reliable operation, even if you're using your F150 hard both on and off-road. Each HD Tow transmission will handle stock power levels, as well as bolt-on builds that are making a bit more power than stock. This transmission is
not recommended for tuned EcoBoost trucks. The Tier One HD Tow 6R80 transmission comes 100% complete and ready to drop right into place of your F150's stock transmission without any permanent modifications to your truck. The transmission will require IDS programming after installation.

The HD Towing 6R80 transmission features a combination of all-new OEM parts, as well as upgraded internal components that shore up the transmission for heavy towing, bolt-on engine upgrades, and tuning on 5.0L F150 builds. The Tier One HD Tow 6R80 transmission comes with a a new OEM torque converter, new OEM valve body, and new OEM transmission pump to replace worn-out stock components that can can cause a failure or low levels of line pressure and burn up the clutches. Speaking of which, every 6R80 towing transmission comes standard with new Raybestos friction module with Raybestos clutches to give your F150 build clean and smooth shifting while handling heavy towing and tough off-roading. We here at Tier One include a billet E-clutch piston to help prevent cracking of the stock die-cast piston under the load of heavy towing or stress of shifting while off-roading with bigger tires. The HD Tow 6R80 transmission also includes a cooler bypass delete that allows full-time fluid flow to your F150's transmission cooler so that you get cooler operating temperatures to maintain long-term reliability. Every 6R80 HD Tow Transmission is topped off with a master overhaul kit that comes with all the necessary seals, gaskets, O-rings, and other wearable hardware so that your transmission gets leak-free and reliable operation. All parts and components are disassembled and cleaned from our OEM cores to ensure your new 6R80 transmission is free from contaminants and other debris. We carefully inspect your transmission’s planetary geartrain for damage before fully speccing all your bearings and washers for endplay. The included rebuild kit includes new seals, gaskets, and sealing rings to replace all the wearable parts of the transmission before it’s installed on your 2011-2017 Ford F150 truck.

Recommended gearing: the following gearing is recommended for the following tire sizes, and is required for Tier One to honor your warranty:
- 35" Tire: 3.73 gears or higher
- 37" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
- +38" Tire: 4.56 gears or higher
Core charge: this transmission includes a $2000.00 core charge that will be refunded once Tier One receives your stock transmission, inspects it, and finds it acceptable condition. The core charge can be fully or partially waived if you send in or drop off your stock transmission ahead of time.
