All HD tuneless tow-all 68 RFE are designed to be a step above the factory transmission in every area. When designing and testing this transmission, the core driver for this was for you to be able to tow more with no fear of transmission failure. The first area that we upgraded inside this transmission starts with the torque converter by offering a better friction material for lock up. After that we move on to the transmission case where we replace all of the clutches with higher energy frictions to handle more torque. One key area that we upgrade in this transmission and every other 68 transmission we build is the 4C billet retainer that will inevitably fail at some point. After that, we top off this transmission with a deep pan. But this is not the last area that we upgrade. The true success of this transmission is found directly in its valve body, which is completely reworked. We start with a kit that allows the transmission valve body to deliver over 200 pounds of line pressure to the clutch packs which results in more holding capacity which equals more reliability. When upgrading the body, we replace the factory accumulator plate that blows out, we replace the solenoid switch valve that almost always gives you a P0871 and we top this great valve body off with a brand new OEM solenoid.
