68RFE Tuneless

All HD tuneless tow-all 68 RFE are designed to be a step above the factory transmission in every area. When designing and testing this transmission, the core driver for this was for you to be able to tow more with no fear of transmission failure. The first area that we upgraded inside this transmission starts with the torque converter by offering a better friction material for lock up. After that we move on to the transmission case where we replace all of the clutches with higher energy frictions to handle more torque. One key area that we upgrade in this transmission and every other 68 transmission we build is the 4C billet retainer that will inevitably fail at some point. After that, we top off this transmission with a deep pan. But this is not the last area that we upgrade. The true success of this transmission is found directly in its valve body, which is completely reworked. We start with a kit that allows the transmission valve body to deliver over 200 pounds of line pressure to the clutch packs which results in more holding capacity which equals more reliability. When upgrading the body, we replace the factory accumulator plate that blows out, we replace the solenoid switch valve that almost always gives you a P0871 and we top this great valve body off with a brand new OEM solenoid.

MAIN CASE

PUMP

  • Flat Sanded Pump
  • Pump checked for Proper Clearance
  • Valves Are Checked For Better Than OE Function

VALVE BODY

  • Flat sanded Valve Body
  • Valves Are Checked For Better Than OE Function
  • Tested on in house Valve Body Dyno for performance and function.
In order for this transmission to shift smoothly you must not have max off idle transmission line pressures. This means that line pressure should increase smoothly as throttle input is received any transmission that achieves 225 psi of line pressure before quarter throttle will most likely shift harshly. In order to function correctly all 68 transmissions must have proper tuning or undesired results will result. It is recommended to keep the factory lock up sequence as changing this can cause broken shafts and a harsh shifting transmission. Lower reverse Sprag hold out is required on this transmission or major gear train damage will result. And 2019+68 transmissions the underdrive pulse must be turned off or this will cause underdrive failure in transmissions with elevated line pressure.

Tested on our in-house Transmission  Dyno to ensure functionality and performance.
