If you're putting together an L5P Duramax build that has enough power to absolutely smash your competition at the drag strip or up on the dyno, you're going to need a transmission that can handle absolutely ridiculous levels of power and torque. The Tier One Competition Allison 1000 Transmission can hold over 1000 horsepower, which lets you stack huge compound turbos, massive fuel injectors, high-shot nitrous systems exhaust upgrades, and powerful Duramax custom tuning onto your 6.6L L5P Duramax diesel without your transmission letting you down while you crush your opponents. The Tier One Competition Allison Transmission was designed specifically for competition use, and is right at home on powerful Duramax drag racing and dyno day builds that are throwing down massive amounts of power. Each Competition Allison Transmission is a drop-in replacement for the factory Allison 1000 transmission, and features overhauled components that can handle and put down all the power your L5P Duramax can manage to spit out.

Each Tier One Competition Allison 1000 transmission comes with extremely strong internal and external transmission parts that will let your awesome Duramax hit insane levels of power and torque. Every Tier One Competition Allison 1000 Transmission starts off with a billet triple-disc torque converter that's far more resistant to burn-up and warping than stock, while also being able to handle far higher levels of power. The converter mates to a TCS billet steel input shaft that's far more resistant to cracking and shearing than the stock shaft. The Competition Allison transmission is also fitted with both a billet steel intermediate shaft and billet steel output shaft that handle the massive rotational forces and load from high-powered Duramax builds far better than stock. The Competition Allison 1000 Transmission comes standard with a billet steel C2 clutch hub that can handle the high levels of load from drag racing and dyno pulls, and Tier One does the necessary machining on the P1 sun gear in order for the billet hub to fit. Each Competition transmission has a high-pressure valve body with a RatioTek valve body kit which work together to keep the transmission's internal components supplied with fluid, while also firming up shifting for competition use. In order to help hold a ton of power, Tier One includes a performance overhaul kit that includes additional C1, C2, C3, and C4 clutches with improved friction material over stock. Tier One includes a deep, cast aluminum transmission pan with every competition transmission to reduce running temperatures and improve reliability. Each transmission comes with new OEM hardware to help ensure excellent reliability, including new OEM PCS solenoids, a new internal wiring harness, new OEM switch manifold, and a new filter. The Competition Allison 1000 transmission is topped off with a billet PTO cover with "Tier One" lettering and C3 oiler upgrade for improved transmission lubrication. The transmission receives new gaskets and seals before being air-checked for potential leaks.
Fully Overhauled Allison 1000 Transmission for Excellent Reliability
During our build of your Allison Competition transmission, we here at Tier One go over every millimeter of its internal components to guarantee excellent function and reliability. All parts are disassembled and cleaned from our OEM cores to ensure your new Allison 1000 transmission is free from contaminants and other debris. We carefully inspect your transmission’s planetary gear train for damage before fully speccing all bearings and washers for endplay. The valve body is and its solenoids are thoroughly inspected for better than OEM function. The performance rebuild kit includes new clutches, seals, gaskets, and sealing rings to replace all the wearable parts of the transmission before it’s installed on your Silverado or Sierra 2500 or 3500.
Thorough Testing of the Valve Body and Entire Transmission Before Shipping
We here at Tier One take pride in every built Allison 1000 transmission we manufacture for the GM 6.6L L5P Duramax trucks. To make sure that you get a transmission that’s as tough as your truck, Tier One puts both the valve bodies and the entire assembled transmission through rigorous testing to ensure you get the reliability you need for heavy towing and hauling applications with your 6.6L Duramax diesel. Before the assembly of the valve body, it goes through a thorough inspection. All valve body solenoids are carefully tested to ensure flawless operation. After assembly of the valve body, it goes through rigorous dyno-testing to ensure proper fluid flow, line pressures, and solenoid operation. After final assembly of the transmission itself, we put it through a complete air-check to find potential leaks.

Recommended gearing: the following gearing is recommended for the following tire sizes, and is required for Tier One to honor your warranty:
- 35" Tire: 3.73 gears or higher
- 37" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
- +38" Tire: 4.56 gears or higher
Transmission Break-in: in order to maintain your warranty, this transmission requires a 300-mile break-in and a 100-mile relearn. Please check out
