Even though the Allison transmissions are touted as THE transmission for heavy towing, but even the mighty 10L1000s can suffer from some issues if you're towing and hauling big loads on a regular basis, even at factory power levels. Tier One's HD Tow Allison 10L1000 was purpose-designed to give your 2020-2024 Duramax Silverado or Sierra 2500 and 3500 the reliability and shifting performance it needs to handle practically any towing application. The Tier One Allison 10L1000 towing transmission can handle pulling big trailers, huge fifth wheels, and massive toy haulers without letting you or your tough Duramax truck down. Each HD Tow 10L1000 transmission features a combination of updated OEM transmission components and new performance parts to give your truck a transmission that can handle towing and the daily grind with the reliability that your Silverado or Sierra truly deserves.

The Tier One HD Tow Transmission features just enough performance upgrades to improve reliability at stock or near-stock power levels, as well as improved OEM components that can help you avoid problems way down the road. The Tier One HD Tow 10L1000 transmission starts off with a billet triple-disc torque converter that's far more resistant to burn-up, cracking, and warping than stock while also offering 33% more apply area than stock. The HD Tow transmission includes a complete overhaul kit that comes standard with performance GPZ clutches that feature more aggressive friction material than OE-style clutches so that they're more resistant to wear, high-temperatures, and load than stock. To prevent solenoid misalignment and possible wear on the valve body, Tier One includes both a Sonnax solenoid stabilization clip and stabilization retainer that hold the valve body solenoids steady when under load and give you much more reliable transmission operation. To increase long-term reliability, we here at Tier one include the latest OEM GM CDF drum design, as well as a new OEM F-clutch drum, both of which can suffer gouging and failures when placed under big loads from towing and hauling. The 10L1000 HD Tow transmission is rounded out by a deep-style, cast aluminum transmission pan that has increased fluid capacity and cooling fins that work together to lower transmission operation temperatures. Tier One also installs new gaskets and seals before air-checking the transmission for leaks.

All parts and components are disassembled and cleaned from our OEM cores to ensure your new 10L1000 transmission is free from contaminants and other debris. We carefully inspect your transmission’s planetary geartrain for damage before fully speccing all your bearings and washers for endplay. The included rebuild kit includes new seals, gaskets, and sealing rings to replace all the wearable parts of the transmission before it’s installed on your Silverado or Sierra HD truck.

To make sure you get a built 10L1000 transmission that’s as tough as your truck, Tier One puts the valve bodies and entire assembled transmissions through rigorous testing to ensure you get the reliability you need for heavy towing and hauling applications with your Silverado or Sierra truck. All valve body solenoids are carefully tested to ensure flawless operation. After final assembly of the transmission itself, we put it through a complete air-check to find potential leaks before a final inspection and shipping out.

Requires Reprogramming & Relearn: installation of this transmission will require reprogramming at a certified GM service center, as well as a relearn period.
