Modified OEM Valve Body built for Higher Line Pressures and More Power than Stock
Each Tier One 68RFE Valve Body starts its life as an OEM 68RFE core that we then craft into a high-performance, high-pressure 68RFE valve body that can handle a bunch more power and tougher applications than the factory valve body. Each Tier One 68RFE valve body features new, high-strength components that are expertly assembled by Tier One's expert transmission technicians to ensure that your 2019-2024 Ram 2500 or 3500 gets reliable transmission function and clean shifting even after you stack on decent amounts of horsepower and torque. This version of Tier One's valve body gives you the ability to use tuning on your 6.7L Cummins Ram without your valve body letting you down. Our High-Pressure 68RFE valve body is perfect for trucks doing heavy towing, ripping around off-road, or tearing it up on the streets.
Fixes Common Failures: Bonded Separator Plate, HD Accumulator Plate, Steel Switch Valve & Billet Pistons
The Tier One High-Pressure Valve Body for 2019-2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 trucks was carefully designed to fix the specific mechanical failures common to stock units. We install a bonded separator plate to eliminate cross-leaks and prevent pressure from entering circuits where it doesn't belong. To address common failures, we replace the weak factory plastic pistons with Billet 3-Ring Accumulator Pistons that won't crack and cause clutch burn-up. We also install a thicker accumulator cover plate with additional bolts to solve the issue where the factory plate fails and blows off, leading to slip codes and clutch failure. Finally, we install an upgraded steel switch valve to fix the common bore wear issues found on OEM valve bodies that trigger P0871 codes and catastrophic Overdrive clutch failure.
Recommended Add-Ons: Protect Your Investment
You are upgrading your valve body to handle higher pressure and prevent failure, but two major weak points remain in the 68RFE system: Heat and Case Flex. We recommend adding these components to ensure your new valve body performs at its peak.
1. PPE Cast Aluminum Deep Transmission Pan (Raw Finish)
The factory stamped-steel pan is flimsy. Under high torque and line pressure, the 68RFE case can actually distort and flex, causing internal cross-leaks that undermine even the best valve body. The PPE Cast Aluminum Pan is thick and rigid, acting as a girdle that strengthens the transmission case to prevent this flex. Additionally, it holds extra fluid and uses deep external cooling fins to keep your transmission running significantly cooler. The cast pan also includes a drain plug making future oil changes a breeze.

2. PPE Thermal Bypass Valve (Fits 2019-2024 Models)
The stock cooling system uses a thermostatic valve that restricts fluid flow to the cooler until the transmission gets hot. In performance or towing scenarios, this delay can spike temperatures and damage clutches. This PPE Bypass Valve removes that restriction, forcing 100% of the fluid through the cooler from the moment you start the truck.

68RFE Valve Body Specifications:
- Vehicle Fitment: 2019-2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 with 68RFE Transmission
- Accumulator Pistons: Billet 3 Ring
- Channel Plate: OEM
- Accumulator Plate: Extra thick with more bolts
- Separator Plate: Bonded Separator Plate
- Switch Valve: Upgraded steel valve assembly
- Solenoids: OEM
- Flat Sanding: Yes
- Dyno Tested: Yes
Tuning Notes:
- Max line pressure during road test: High pressure VB needs to be at 225psi at 25-30% throttle angle (Stock VBs are 160psi).
- Line pressure in reverse should reach 250psi.
- Use of factory lock strategy must be used or transmission damage will occur.
- UD Pulse: 2019 and up should have UD pulse turned off (Please verify on 2017 and 2018 Rams as some are equipped with this option).
- Every 68RFE must have a relearn completed or failure will result.
If we are not performing the transmission installation, the customer or their chosen repair shop is responsible for transferring the lock-up solenoid from the original valve body to the replacement valve body.
For 2019-2024 Ram 2500 or 3500 with 68RFE only: this valve body will only fit 2019-2024 Ram 2500 or 3500 with a 68RFE transmission only. A
2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 & 3500 High-Pressure 68RFE Valve Body is also available. Neither of these valve bodies will fit Ram 3500s with AS69RC transmissions.
Relearn required: installation of this valve body will require a transmission relearn for proper operation.
Swapping Stock Lockup Solenoid: Tier One requires you to swap over your OEM lockup solenoid to your new valve body in order to avoid the need for additional programming. Please take care to not lose the solenoid check ball when doing your transfer.
Requires core charge: this valve body requires an additional $500 core charge, which will be refunded in whole or in part once Tier One receives your stock valve body, inspects it and finds it in acceptable condition. The core charge can be waived if you send in or drop-off your stock valve body ahead of time.
