The Ultimate 6R140 for 1000HP Powerstrokes
The Tier One Stage 3 6R140 Transmission is the pinnacle of performance for 2017-2019 6.7L Powerstroke owners who demand the absolute best. Designed for trucks pushing up to 1000 horsepower, this transmission is built to handle massive compound turbos, aggressive fueling, and the punishment of drag racing or sled pulling, all while retaining the ability to tow heavy. We take everything that makes our Stage 2 great and push it further with a specialized billet intermediate shaft that allows us to stuff even more clutches into the overdrive pack, along with a revolutionary torque converter and billet flexplate as standard equipment.
Technical Deep Dive: Extended Hub & Maximum Clutches
The defining feature of the Stage 3 build is the Revmax Billet Intermediate Shaft with Extended Hub. Unlike a standard billet shaft, this component features a taller clutch hub that allows us to add **2 additional clutches** to the Overdrive pack, bringing the total count to **11**. This massive increase in surface area provides unparalleled holding power for the 4-5 and 5-6 shifts, which are critical in high-horsepower applications. We combine this with our standard upgrades: Forward (5), Direct (6), and Intermediate (7) clutches, all fitted using pistons and backing plates machined in-house to **.001” runout** tolerances. We also include the Revmax Billet Overdrive Piston Kit to ensure these clutches apply flat and clamp evenly.
Reinforced Drums & Shafts
To ensure the hard parts can survive 1000HP, we reinforce the known weak points. We TIG weld the Input Shaft to the Hub and perform the same TIG welding process on the Forward Drum. The factory friction welds on these components are notorious for snapping under high torque; our TIG welding process ensures they stay solid. We also utilize a Modified Intermediate Drum that eliminates the failure-prone roller bearing.
SunCoast Quadralock Converter & Billet Flexplate
To handle 1000HP, we include the SunCoast Billet Quadralock Torque Converter. This revolutionary unit features "captured clutch" technology that eliminates the need to exhaust fluid from the piston backside, allowing for lightning-fast apply rates and over 1,000 PSI of additional clamping force. With a billet stator, furnace-brazed fins, and a 1900 RPM stall speed, it spools larger turbos quickly while maintaining excellent towing manners. We also include a SunCoast Billet Flexplate to prevent the common cracking and failure seen in stock flexplates under high torque loads.
Testing & Quality Control
We take pride in every build. During the manufacturing process, all core parts are disassembled and cleaned. We perform all machining in-house, maintaining **.001” runout or less** for pistons and backing plates to ensure the top-tier quality you expect with every Tier One product. We carefully inspect the planetary geartrain for damage and spec all bearings and washers. We utilize precision dial gauges to ensure all clutch clearances and end plays are set to a much tighter standard than OEM specifications. After final assembly, the valve body is dyno-tested to verify solenoid function, and the complete transmission is air-checked and spin-tested to guarantee it is ready to dominate the road.

Tuning Notes:
- Requires strategy relearn for valve body: The specific code for the strategy relearn is provided on your invoice. This is critical for proper operation.
- Must have factory transmission tuning: This transmission is designed to run on the OEM transmission tuning files.
- Clear KAM: The Keep Alive Memory (KAM) needs to be cleared when installing this transmission to reset adaptive learning tables.
Recommended gearing: the following gearing is recommended for the following tire sizes, and is required for Tier One to honor your warranty:
- 35" Tire: 3.73 gears or higher
- 37" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
- +38" Tire: 4.30 gears or higher
Transmission Break-in: in order to maintain your warranty, this transmission requires a 300-mile break-in and a 100-mile relearn. Please check out

Core charge: this transmission includes a $2500.00 core charge that will be refunded once Tier One receives your stock transmission, inspects it, and finds it acceptable condition. The core charge can be waived if you send in or drop off your stock transmission ahead of time. You
will not receive a core charge back if you did not pay it up front. If you drop off your core ahead of time you will be charged for any hard parts that are required to build your core.
