Built Allison 1000 Transmission that can Handle Heavy Towing at Stock or Near-Stock Power more Reliably
Even though the factory Allison transmission helping to power your 6.6L LMM Duramax Silverado or Sierra HD 2500 or 3500 may be more stout than the standard 6L90 transmissions, when you're towing heavy and consistently, the factory Allison can start to have problems. The Tier One Allison HD Towing transmission was designed from the ground up to fix some of the weak points in the OEM Allison transmission so that you can tow and haul all of your gear with confidence. The Tier One Allison towing transmission features a whole slate of internal and external transmission components that replace failure-prone OEM components and allow you to tow your toys while at stock or near-stock power levels from basic bolt-on parts or mild Duramax tuning. The HD Tow Allison 1000 transmission is a 100% complete, drop-in replacement transmission for your stock Allison that doesn't require any custom tuning or permanent modifications to your truck.

The Allison HD Towing transmission from Tier One includes all-new performance and OEM Allison transmission parts that help your tough Duramax-powered Silverado or Sierra HD truck tow more effectively and more reliably. Tier One starts each Allison Towing transmission build with a billet, triple-disc torque converter that is far more resistant to warping and cracking than stock, all while being able to handle the strain of heavy towing loads much more effectively than the stock torque converter. Each Tier One Allison HD Tow transmission comes with a remanufactured high-pressure valve body that's fitted with a Ratiotek Valve Body kit which work together to better handle high line pressures and deliver fluid to your critical transmission components, while at the same time give your truck firm, fast, and accurate shifting. The Tier One HD Tow Allison Transmission gets a complete overhaul kit that includes new frictions for the clutch packs, as well as new hardware and seals to ensure reliable operation. The Allison towing transmission comes with a cast aluminum, deep transmission pan that has more fluid capacity than stock and helps keep the transmission running cooler when under load. The transmission also receives new OEM PCS solenoids, a new OEM switch manifold, new filter, and a new OEM internal wiring harness to ensure reliability when you're towing all your toys. The HD Tow transmission is topped off with a Billet Aluminum PTO Cover with "Tier One" lettering and a C3 oiler upgrade for improved lubrication, as well as new gaskets and seals before being air-checked to find potential leaks.
Fully Overhauled Allison 1000 Transmission for Excellent Reliability
During our build of your Allison Towing transmission, we here at Tier One go over every millimeter of its internal components to guarantee excellent function and reliability. All parts are disassembled and cleaned from our OEM cores to ensure your new Allison 1000 transmission is free from contaminants and other debris. We carefully inspect your transmission’s planetary gear train for damage before fully speccing all bearings and washers for endplay. The original transmission pump is flat-sanded, checked for proper clearances, and vacuum-tested. The valve body is likewise flat-sanded and its solenoids thoroughly inspected for better than OEM function. The performance rebuild kit includes new clutches, seals, gaskets, and sealing rings to replace all the wearable parts of the transmission before it’s installed on your Silverado or Sierra 2500 or 3500.
Thorough Testing of the Valve Body and Entire Transmission Before Shipping
We here at Tier One take pride in every built Allison 1000 transmission we manufacture for the GM 6.6L LMM Duramax trucks. To make sure that you get a transmission that’s as tough as your truck, Tier One puts both the valve bodies and the entire assembled transmission through rigorous testing to ensure you get the reliability you need for heavy towing and hauling applications with your 6.6L Duramax diesel. Before the assembly of the valve body, it goes through flat-sanding vacuum-testing. All valve body solenoids are carefully tested to ensure flawless operation. After assembly of the valve body, it goes through rigorous dyno-testing to ensure proper fluid flow, line pressures, and solenoid operation. After final assembly of the transmission itself, we put it through a complete air-check to find potential leaks before putting the entire transmission on our in-house transmission dyno to ensure proper operation, performance, and power-holding.

Recommended gearing: the following gearing is recommended for the following tire sizes, and is required for Tier One to honor your warranty:
- 35" Tire: 3.73 gears or higher
- 37" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
- +38" Tire: 4.56 gears or higher
Transmission Break-in: in order to maintain your warranty, this transmission requires a 300-mile break-in and a 100-mile relearn. Please check out
